Crowe Paradis, the fastest growing Social Security and Medicare benefit advocacy firm in the United States is looking for Legal Support Specialists.
Essential Duties of Legal Support Specialist:
- Maintain assigned Advocate's calendar and scheduled hearings in a shared calendar and update the database accordingly
- Request medical records according to individual case situation
- Scan and save medical records
- Organize and submit medical records to the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR) in a timely manner and according to policy
- Communicate with Account Managers regarding information needed from LTD carriers
- Communicate with ODAR offices to confirm the receipt of medical records, correspondence sent via ERE and the follow up on the status of Notice of Decisions
- Submit pre-hearing and other memoranda to ODAR as needed
- Request copies of "paper files" from ODAR and retrieve it from the local SSA office when applicable
- Post Hearing Homework - follow up on any missing medical records the Judge has asked we submit while the claim is left open after hearing
- Solicit post hearing notes and any last act/status changes - updates the database accordingly
- Draft and submit withdrawal letters and postponement letters to ODAR
- Manage miscellaneous mailings to advocate such as close outs and AOD letters
- Coordinate the review of Appeals Council denials with the regional
advocate to determine if the case will be referred to an advocate outside for a Federal Appeal or confirm with regional
advocate whether or not the claimant wishes to go on to the IC level and repeat the process
- DDS requests - working up DDS requests if the OTR project is not taking them
- Answer phones in a professional and timely manner as needed
- Log into the Legal Skillset line according to schedule

- Ability to model a high level of accountability and personal integrity; ability to communicate across the organization openly and with respect.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 1-3 years work experience in related field;
- Experience working in a call center environment, preferably in an insurance or benefit claim organization;
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (oral and written), ability to manage projects independently, and pursue multiple objectives simultaneously;
- Must have extensive experience and skill in the use of programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
